Spanish giants set sights on big-name signing.
Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani ahead of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, according to Fichajes.com.
The Uruguay international has long been linked with an exit from PSG after failing to hit top form in France, and a move to the Premier League has previously seemed likely.
However, with news that Real Madrid are considering offloading Karim Benzema this January, it looks as though they will now step up their efforts to bring in Cavani as a replacement.
This would be a welcome boost for Liverpool as they have targeted Benzema for some time, and the Frenchman should be available if Real win the race for Cavani.
