Spanish giants linked with Gunners target.
Real Madrid are plotting a January move for Wolfsburg midfielder and Arsenal target Luiz Gustavo as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, according to Fichajes.net.
The Spanish giants sold Alonso to Bayern Munich late on in the summer transfer window, leaving them little time to bring in a replacement, but they are now keen to move for a new midfielder in the winter.
Inter Milan star Fredy Guarin, a rumoured target for Manchester United, is also on Carlo Ancelotti’s radar for when the transfer window re-opens, with Sami Khedira‘s future at the club remaining uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract.
Arsenal had been linked with Gustavo this summer after appearing to give up on a deal to bring in Khedira from Real, but the destination of these midfield players now looks uncertain as top clubs look to continue spending in January.
