Stoke boss Tony Pulis has heaped praise on striker Peter Crouch, after his goal earned the Potters a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United.
Crouch, a transfer deadline day arrival at the Britannia Stadium, netted his first goal for the club and Pulis was delighted with his all-round contribution.
“We’re delighted with the way Peter has settled in, but it takes time for a new player to build up a good understanding with his team-mates,” Pulis told his club’s official website.
“Peter has tremendous technique; he holds the ball up so well and brings other people into the game. That was evident in this game.
“That’s why we have paid decent money to bring him here. It’s fantastic that he has got off the mark, but I know that we can get more out of him.”
Crouch, 30, become only the sixth player to have scored for six different Premier League clubs, and will be looking to continue his goal scoring form next weekend at Swansea.
