Man United boss Louis Van Gaal’s treatment of David De Gea is reportedly putting off compatriot Pedro from signing with the club.
According to the Guardian, by leaving De Gea out of his squad for the first two games of the season and seemingly pushing him towards the exit door, Van Gaal is creating a bad impression on his top target.
Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has suggested that rivals Man City have now made a better offer to Barcelona, and coupled with this latest development, he could be heading to the Etihad instead.
The 28-year-old has been strongly linked with an exit from the Catalan giants before the end of the month, as even though he insists he never asked to leave the club, he understands he’s in a difficult position with a lack of playing time.
It appeared as though Old Trafford would be the perfect fit for him as Van Gaal looked to add another world-class winger to his squad, but De Gea’s future is causing various problems.
It may even be a case of Victor Valdes sharing the opinion as he has also come under fire from the Dutchman and will not be arguing in favour of Pedro joining him in Manchester.
