Indianapolis Colts vs New England Patriots
Having gone 12-5 in the regular season, the Colts put on perhaps the most stunning performance of the post-season with their win against the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend.
Indianapolis rallied from a 28-point deficit in the second half to secure a 45-44 win, and with Andrew Luck full of confidence, anything is possible for the visitors on Saturday.
However, they will have to achieve something that no other visiting team has been able to this season, and that is win at the Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots went 12-4 over the season but more impressively they were 8-0 at home, with Tom Brady steadying the ship with his influential performances, as injuries have decimated their linebackers.
Rob Gronkowski is out for the season too but New England have found other ways to win, but the question is can they do it again on Saturday against Luck and the Colts?
Sumeet Paul: Luck will want to forget about last year’s meeting between these two, as the Colts suffered their worst loss during his time at the franchise. However, he’ll be better off this season and it promises to be a thrilling contest between the two quarterbacks. Injuries will be a concern for both teams and Brady will exploit the Indy defense, but I’m backing another sensational effort from Luck to see off the Patriots.
Scott Hazlewood: Patriots to win by 7. While much has been made of the Colts amazing last-gasp win against Kansas City last weekend, the Pats are another step up again. Tom Brady and this team has made its name in the post-season, but their offense again is starting to look rusty. Combine this with Andrew Luck’s Colts being 14-2 in games decided by 7 points or less, and you’ve got the ingredients for a thriller.
Adam Davies: Home advantage to make a significant difference in this one too. With Luck remembering last season’s thrashing, I’m going with a Patriots win.
Indianapolis Colts 1-2 New England Patriots
