Guessing is over as Wiggins is the first man to be called out in the NBA Draft 2014…
The Cleveland Cavaliers have selected Andrew Wiggins with the top overall pick in the NBA Draft 2014 while a number of other top prospects will enter the league.
Given the injury concerns surrounding Joel Embiid regarding both his back and foot, the latter requiring surgery recently, both Wiggins and Jabari Parker emerged as the top options.
Wiggins is undoubtedly regarded as one of the best athletes in the draft class, but ultimately he has been touted for a long and successful season in the league.
It is understood that the Cavaliers will not trade him despite reports prior to the Draft suggesting that the Philadelphia 76ers were keen on acquiring the top pick in order to land Wiggins.
Nevertheless, it is Cleveland who secured the talented star, and Wiggins was visibly delighted with the news and collected his cap prior to taking to the stage to embrace NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
Wiggins promised the Cavaliers fans that he would hit the ground running and give as much as possible to the team, and experts have conceded that they are very excited about the impact that he could make in the NBA moving forward.
Meanwhile, Parker was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the second overall pick.
