Manchester United have been linked with Wesley Sneijder all summer, and despite Sir Alex Ferguson denying a deal was imminent to bring the Inter Milan star to Old Trafford, super agent Vincenzo Morabito claims otherwise.
What’s more, he could cost far less than the figures bandied about in the media.
“Beijing [for the Italian Super Coppa] could really be the last time we see Sneijder in the shirt of Inter, after which he will wear the Red of United,” said Morabito to IlSussidiario.net.
“I was surprised by the fact that Sneijder never partly nor entirely made clear his position on these rumours: in other words, instead of denying everything, he preferred to remain silent and this factor can only be a further clue.
“I do not think that the figure is actually £30 million and I think that the agreement will be for something less, and now Inter must decide.”
Of course, Morabito is not actually Sneijder’s agent.
That is Soren Lerby, who was coy on his client’s future in an interview with Voetbal International last month.
“It’s not so strange to see Sneijder’s name linked to the top sides who want to strengthen their squads,” said Lerby.
“In any case, I believe that it’s still early for those big clubs to act in a definitive manner.”
