Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has told the club he wants £50 million-rated Brazilian superstar Neymar.
According to the Daily Mail, Mancini wants to fight Real Madrid for the striker’s signing, after identifying him as the brightest prospect in world football.
The Italian coach has told the club that in order to fight with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona, the club have to target the elite players, with Neymar topping his list.
Neymar, 19, is a player in demand with speculation linking him with a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid, but Santos have refused to shirk at the huge offers that have reportedly been made by the Spanish giants.
The Brazil international has six goals in twelve appearances for his country, and has received rave reviews following his sparkling performances for his club.
Despite having the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez amongst his striking options, Mancini is keen to add to what is already a daunting squad and is desperate to land his man.
