Man United’s recent midfield spending-spree indicate a possible exit for Angel Di Maria. Will the Red Devils unload their expensive star?
With the honeymoon for Man United and Angel Di Maria much less impressive on the pitch than on paper, the Red Devils may have found someone to take him off their hands.
According to the Metro, Ligue 1 champs Paris Saint-Germain have begun talks with Man United about a transfer for Di Maria. The French outfit fell short in Man United’s ultimately successful record-setting £59.7 million bid for Di Maria last year but their interest in the 27-year-old Argentinian star has not. Despite shelling out a record-setting sum for Di Maria, the midfield star failed to make an impact after scoring 3 goals in the first few games of last season.
The Metro reported that the potential transfer is worth approximately £46 million – a solid £13 million below Man United’s original purchase price from Real Madrid.
A source the Metro called “close to the club” reportedly said, “The player (Di Maria) wants PSG, Manchester is not opposed to his departure.
“It just requires that all parties meet there and that Paris is not the fall guy overpaying wages or transfer.”
