Liverpool midfielder Christian Poulsen has been dropped from the Denmark national team squad due to anxiety over his future at Anfield.
Danish manager Morten Olsen has elected to leave him out until his situation is resolved – and made it quite clear he believes the ideal solution would be more Poulsen to find another club.
“He’s stressed by his situation, that’s why I’ve chosen to overlook him this time,” explained Olsen after announcing his squad to the press.
“We hope that Christian finds a good club and gets playing time so that he can return against Portugal and Cyprus in October,” he added.
In more positive news for both Liverpool and Denmark, Reds defender Daniel Agger has been confirmed to captain the Danes.
