Liverpool are to let Alberto Aquilani transfer to AC Milan for a mere 7m Euros, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The incredibly low fee comes just two years after the club spent 20m Euros on the Italy international midfielder, but it is believed that Liverpool are so keen to get Aquilani off the Anfield wage bill that they are ready to take such a hit.
Liverpool certainly have a well stocked midfield, but many Reds fans feel Aquilani offers something different and was never truly given a chance to prove himself.
AC Milan fans will know exactly what they are getting, having seen him on loan at Juventus last season.
They have turned to Aquilani after their pursuit of Fiorentina ace Riccardo Montolivo proved fruitless, as I Viola indicated they would only sell to a team outside Italy.
