The transfer of Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani to Fiorentina has fallen through, according to his agent.
The Italy international spent last season on loan at Juventus, and was linked with a similar move to Florence for the coming campaign.
However, his representative Franco Zavaglia claims Aquilani is tired of his future being unresolved, and wants to either seal a permanent transfer or stay at Anfield.
Franco Zavaglia spoke at Sports Network status negotiations, during the break, with Fiorentina.
“Alberto was more than willing to play for Fiorentina, but does not want to be in the position of having to reconsider his position again next season.
At the moment he is a Liverpool player. Yesterday he took part in the friendly against Galatasaray, and played well.”
Despite these words, Fiorentina coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is quite openly keen on signing Aquilani.
As a result, it would be a mite premature to rule out the transfer altogether at this early stage of the transfer window.
