Liverpool and Tottenham will have to stave off the threat of Real Madrid if either are to land French prodigy M’Baye Niang, reports The People.
The Caen forward has been tracked by the two Premier League clubs – with Liverpool showing the stronger interest – for a while and are hoping to bring the 16-year-old to England. However, Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane is well aware of the teenager’s talents and is keen to make the Santiago Bernabeu his next home.
Despite his tender years, Niang is already part of the first team at Caen and has made the starting line-up in both the club’s opening fixtures in this season’s Ligue 1. Such has been his impact that his current employers are understandably reluctant to sell him but Real are keen to explore a solution that would allow him to continue his development in France before eventually moving to Spain.
Liverpool and Tottenham will have to come up with a better offer if they are to swing the balance in their favour.
