Liverpool have accepted a bid from Evian TG for defensive midfielder Christian Poulsen, according to Sky Sports News.
The newly promoted Ligue 1 team have already signed Sidney Govou and Cedric Mongongou, and will attempt to further demonstrate their ambition for the season with the capture of Poulsen from Anfield.
Poulsen has captained the Denmark national team recently, but was omitted from the current squad by manager Morten Olsen, who says the midfielder must leave Liverpool if he is to continue as captain.
“He’s stressed by his situation, that’s why I’ve chosen to overlook him this time,” said Olsen.
“We hope that Christian finds a good club and gets playing time so that he can return against Portugal and Cyprus in October.”
Perhaps he will find that at Evian.
