Jorge Lorenzo is confident he can use home advantage to help spur him on as he aims to keep his hopes of retaining the MotoGP crown on course tomorrow.
Having edged rival Casey Stoner in free practice in Aragon, Lorenzo is looking to build on his win at Misano as he looks to further cut Stoner’s 35-point lead.
Lorenzo said: “Misano was a fantastic victory for us and very important. We had a good package there and we have the same package here. It’s not easy to fight with him but we’ll try and we will fight.”
Meanwhile, Stoner believes he has shaken off the tiredness that saw him finish third in Misano, and is confident he can at least come close to repeating his win in Aragon last year.
“We definitely had the package to run with Jorge and I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to,” admitted Stoner, who is bidding to regain the trophy he won back in 2007.
“This weekend I feel a lot better and stronger and I’m ready for it.”
Heading into today’s qualifying, Dani Pedrosa was fastest after the second practice session was cancelled after a power cut blacked out the circuit.
