Wantaway Livrepool midfielder ALberto Aquilani scored a late winner for Italy as they condemned world champions Spain to a rare 2-1 defeat.
Aquilani saw his deflected shot wrongfoot Victor Valdes in the visitor’s goal to give the Azzurri a famous win in the Stadio San Nicola in Baro. Riccardo Montolivio had earlier given the hosts the lead with a delightful chip before Xabi Alonso brought Spain level from the penalty spot.
Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Fernando Torres was substituted after just 14 minutes and taken to hospital after suffering concussion.
