Jose Mourinho has been promised the signing of Mauro Icardi.
Chelsea could sign Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi next summer having been ‘promised’ first refusal on the exciting young Argentine by new Inter manager Roberto Mancini, report TuttoSport, despite reported interest from Liverpool in one of Serie A’s brightest young stars.

Inter have slumped further down the Serie A table following a home defeat to Udinese at the weekend and look a long way away from challenging the likes of Napoli and Genoa for Champions League qualification, meaning that Mancini has decided that he will have to sell some star assets to make way for his own players.
Icardi is the most obvious saleable asset that Inter have and, despite not actively looking to sell him, the report suggests that they will consider any reasonable offer for the former Sampdoria man.
Whilst Chelsea could be able to sign Icardi if they desire, manager Jose Mourinho must weight up whether a £20 million plus investment in the 21 year-old is worth it, potentially leaving the door ajar for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, who are both also interested.
