Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he would love to make Emmanuel Adebayor’s loan move permanent at the end of the season.
Adebayor, 27, is currently on loan at White Hart Lane from Manchester City, and has made an immediate impact.
The Togo international provided the assist for Rafael van der Vaart’s opener against Wigan on Saturday, the first game he has failed to get himself on the scoresheet since moving to north London.
“Yes, if he keeps going like he’s going. I’d love to keep him around, he’s been excellent so far so let’s hope he keeps it up,” Redknapp said after the game.
“I don’t know [if it will be possible]. We don’t pay his wages and I think that would be the problem. God knows what he earns, I don’t even know what we pay towards his wages, only the chairman would know that. I bet he’s not cheap.”
The win at the DW Stadium made it three wins in three for Redknapp’s side, who hope to be challenging for a fourth place finish this season.
