England were 130 for two in their second innings against India, a lead of 63 runs, at lunch on the third day of the second Test at Trent Bridge on Sunday.
Ian Bell was 84 not out and Kevin Pietersen 20 not out.
After lunch, Bell improved even further.
He soon reached his century, and at the drinks break, England were 208-2..
Pietersen too reached his half century as a burgeoning partnership swelled, but was caught by MS Dhoni for 63.
England currently lead the four-match series 1-0.
