Mourinho’s excuses
Excitement was rife around Stamford Bridge last summer as the only truly loved Blues manager of the Roman Abramovich era was returning after a six year absence.
Mourinho arrived back in west London a more mature and reserved figure it seemed, claiming he was now ‘the Happy One’ as opposed to the ‘Special One.’
As expected things on the pitch improved and it looked like business as usual for a side that had previously won five major trophies under the 51-year-old.
Yet as poor results creept in so did the increasingly bizarre excuses, including references to ‘little horses’ and leaked comments criticising players and Mourinho could realistically end up with no silverware this term.
