A top of the table clash between two of the bigger franchises in the IPL.
Two sides that have done well so far in the 2013 IPL go head-to-head in today’s match, as Chennai Super Kings host Rajasthan Royals.
The Super Kings are the most successful side in IPL history and after defeat in the final last year, they will be hoping to emulate their successive titles from 2010 and 2011 with another victory this season.
However, Rajasthan will be out to spoil the party as a side that wasn’t perhaps tipped for IPL glory have shown they can more than compete with strong performances so far in the tournament.
Defeat to Royals Challengers Bangalore in their last match was perhaps not what Rahul Dravid’s men would have wanted, but they can put that disappointment behind them with victory over Chennai today.
MS Dhoni and his side won their last outing after exacting revenge on last year’s winners Kolkata Knight Riders.
Mike Hussey has been the man in form with the bat for CSK, racking up 217 runs in six innings with a personal competition-best score of 86 not-out.
For Rajasthan Ajinkya Rahane and skipper Dravid have been the most lethal with the blade with the captain showing he can still cut it at 40-years-old.
With the ball it looks like it could be West Indians Dwayne Bravo and Kevon Cooper fighting it out, with the all-rounders taking 10 and nine wickets respectively.
Australian James Faulkner has also looked good for the visitors whilst Chris Morris has chipped in with nine wickets himself for Chennai.
