Respected Italian journalist claims the Blues have already made an offer for Inter’s Fredy Guarin…
Chelsea have made an offer of £15m for Inter Milan’s Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin, reports respected Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 27-year-old midfielder currently plies his trade in Italy, which he has done for the past year and a bit, since moving from Porto in 2012.
This season, Guarin has been especially effective, scoring three and assisting three from the middle of the park, while being a general battling influence as well. The enforcer prides himself on his simple passing, his ability to retain possession, and his interceptions, although this season – he’s become a creative influence from deep, too.
As well as a striker, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has earmarked a centre-midfielder as a priority following the average form of Frank Lampard alongside Ramires or John Obi Mikel. Guarin has emerged as a priority target, although his parent club will demand closer to £20m for his services.
The Colombian will add some grit and determination to the Chelsea midfield if he arrives in January, and will no doubt help their title push.
