Chelsea are reportedly attempting to make a late attempt to sign Yann M’Vila from Rennes after failing in their pursuit of Luka Modric.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that his club turned down a whopping £40m for their Croatia international and now the Blues have switched their focus to M’Vila.
The France international had been expected to join Arsenal with Arsene Wenger having tracked the midfielder for some time but the Gunners boss refused to spend the £24m required to prise him from Rennes.
With Chelsea still in need of a midfielder – in the words of manager Andre Villas-Boas – rumours are circulating that a panic move for M’Vila is forthcoming though with less than an hour remaining it would seem unlikely.
