Chelsea and AC Milan have now been joined by Porto in their pursuit of Santos star Ganso – dubbed the left-footed Zidane by the Brazilian media.
Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has been less vocal about his intention to keep Ganso than he has been for Neymar, almost indicating that should a sufficiently large bid come in, they would consider it.
“He has already told me he wants to stay at Santos to play in the Club World Cup at the end of the year,” admitted Ribeiro.
“But if he wants to leave Santos, we will not have any objections to that.
“We have to respect the player’s wish.
“He has his dreams, his ambitions.”
Chelsea are likely to consider Ganso should they fail in their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur ace Luka Modric, while AC Milan are also interested.
Paris Saint-Germain though are less keen, having already claimed the signing of Javier Pastore.
