Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez has decided not to respond to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho’s personal insults.
The two old rivals have been drawn into another chapter of their on-going feud following Benitez’s wife’s comments earlier this week.

The Spaniard’s spouse suggested that her husband seems to have to deal with the “messes” that Mourinho leaves behind at his former clubs, but the Chelsea boss didn’t take too kindly to her suggestion.
While he hit out at Benitez for ‘destroying’ his Inter side, he also hit out at the former Liverpool and Chelsea coach in a personal context by suggesting that his wife should take care of his diet rather than talk about him.
Naturally that led to reporters wanting to hear what Benitez though about the retort, but the Spaniard wasn’t interested in continuing the verbal sparring.
“I’m the coach of Madrid. I like football, I understand football and that is why I only speak about football. We are here to prepare for tomorrow’s game, and I just want to talk about Madrid,” he told the media, as reported by ESPN.
It remains to be seen if anything else does comes out of the Benitez camp, but it appears as though he will be taking the moral high ground moving forward.
