Chelsea have joined the race for long term Liverpool target Dele Alli, reports the Express.
The wonderkid currently plays for MK Dons, and excelled this season just gone – making 26 appearances and scoring five goals despite being just 18-years-old. He’s a regular England youth international, and his performances have merited the attention of the Premier League giants.
Due to his physical attributes, and ability to get into the box and score a goal, Ali has been likened to a young Steven Gerrard, which will no doubt get the mouths of both Liverpool and Chelsea fans watering.
Arsenal are similarly sniffing around Alli, although it was previously thought that Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side were in pole position for his signature.
The Reds will have to battle mega rich Chelsea though, who’s young players just completed an Under-21 league and cup double.
Under Jose Mourinho though, young players rarely get chances – which may tempt Alli to favour a move to Anfield, as Rodgers has proven during his two year tenure that he’s more than happy to give talented youth a chance to shine.
As of yet though, no official bids have been made for his services.
