Barca director reportedly says club have agreed deal for Santos starlet.
Brazilian sensation Neymar has already agreed to join Barcelona, according to reports from Spain.
Neymar, 21, is regarded as the finest talent currently playing outside Europe and the Santos striker has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man City and Barca.
The Catalans are reportedly the preferred destination for the Selecao star, despite both Santos and Barca denying a deal has already been agreed.
And a veteran member of FC Barcelona says he’s been assured by one of the club’s top officials that Neymar has already signed for the runaway La Liga leaders.
“Today, a director of Barcelona told me that Neymar had already been signed and would boost the Brazilian market. I cannot say the name of the director, but it was at 2 o’clock his afternoon,” university professor Juame Llopis told a Spanish Radio 4’s Directe 4.0.
Llopis went on to add that Neymar “will come by the end of this season, I’m sure of it.”
There has been widespread speculation that Neymar is keen to remain with Santos until after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The young forward has scored 17 times in just 28 appearances for the Brazilian national team and starred at this summer’s Olympics as the Selecao claimed the Silver medal.
