AC Milan defender Thiago Silva is fully committed to the club, says the Brazilian’s agent Paulo Tonietto.
Silva, 26, had been strongly linked with a move to Spain during the summer transfer window after reports claimed the Catalan giants enquired about him.
Despite his agent admitting that there was real interest from Pep Guardiola’s side, he also confirmed Silva is happy in Milan.
“Barcelona were mentioned in the summer and we are very happy that Barca follow him, since they are the strongest team in the world,” Tonietto told calciomercato.
“It is normal that the best clubs are interested in the best players. He is happy at Milan and he recently renewed his contract until 2016.”
Tonietto’s comments come after Milan secured a shock 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night, with critics pointing to Barca’s defence as the weak link in their line-up.
The preferred centre-back partnership of Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique has struggled to take the field this season with both players suffering injuries, with the former returning against Milan.
