AVB says the chairman has guaranteed Bale will stay.
The speculation surrounding the future of Tottenham Hotspur superstar Gareth Bale is ongoing, but manager Andre Villas-Boas insists a move to Real Madrid will not happen and the Welshman will stay at Spurs.
Madrid president Florentino Perez has continued his mind games in an effort to force a move for Bale through and has flown to the UK to tap the winger up.
However, AVB himself has spoken out against all the rumours surrounding his talisman and has tried to put an end to Perez’s pursuit of the Wales international.
“The chairman has pledged that Bale isn’t leaving the club,” was the short and sweet comment from the Portuguese boss in Marca.
The sentiment from the 35-year-old is clear and that is that Bale will certainly be a Spurs player for at least 12 more months.
Yet with Perez and the wealth of the Santiago Bernabeu baring down on north London, it’s likely that even Villas-Boas’ best efforts won’t stop the chase of the winger until midnight on August 31.
Prices for Bale have been banded about aplenty with Barcelona and former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas denouncing £100m for the player ‘foolish.’
Although the Spaniard is probably right about the valuation it won’t stop Los Blancos trying to raise the capital anyway and the club have already urged the Spurs star to put in a transfer request himself.
Former playing legend and sporting director at the Bernabeu Zinedine Zidane called for Bale to force the move as Madrid quite frankly shameless tapping up continues.
