Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Mircea Lucescu has confirmed Arsenal are interested in signing Brazilian playmaker Jadson.
According to reports on Thursday, the Gunners were on the brink of clinching a deal for the talented 27-year-old midfielder as they looked to replace Barcelona-bound Cesc Fabregas, but Arsene Wenger played down the claims.
However, Lucescu has now revealed that the Gunners have agreed a fee and that the Brazil midfielder is now considering the move.
‘I can confirm Jadson is wanted by Arsenal,’ said Lucescu.
‘Now it all depends on him.’
The North London club are believed to have had a £10million offer accepted for the Shakhtar ace, and the player will likely travel to London on Monday to finalise the formalities.
‘My friends! If all goes well at the start of next week I will have news for you,’ said Jadson on Thursday directly through his Twitter account.
With Samir Nasri also close to the Emirates exit door and Gervinho now suspended for the Gunners next three league games, Wenger is eager to add a creative midfielder to his ranks.
