Arsenal have had seen an attempt to take Real Madrid superstar Kaka on loan rejected but hope to have more luck with an approach to sign him on a permananet basis.
The Daily Mail have reported that the manager Arsene Wenger wasted no time in contacting the Spanish giants after Samir Nasri’s switch to Manchester City and the Gunners’ participation in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League were both confirmed yesterday. The bid was rejected on the basis that the Londoners were not prepared to take on enough of the Brazilian’s reported wages of £153,000 a week.
The Gunners however have been made aware that the Kaka – who is still only 29 – is available for the right price which is said to be as low as £17.5m . With money of little concerning following the sales of Nasri and Cesc Fabregas for a combined total of £60m, Wenger has admitted that he is not averse to splashing the cash should the right player become available.
A former World Player of the Year, Kaka certainly fits in to that category and the Arsenal boss will be aware that a marquee signing of that calibre would go a long way to appeasing the club’s fans who are growing restless at the sight of key player’s leaving the Emirates Stadium.
