5) Fernando Gago – Argentina
Banega combines excellent technical skill with a tenacious attitude in the heart of midfield. He currently plies his trade in Argentina with Boca Juniors, meaning he’d be available at a reasonable price, and at 28-years-old, he’s approaching his prime for an anchoring midfielder. Gago left Real Madrid in 2012, but proved that when on form, he’s good enough to do a solid job for a good side. He might just want to test his mettle in Europe once again.
