Arsenal remain in the market for a new keeper as Liverpool’s Pepe Reina is top of the shopping list if Brendan Rodgers decides to cash in to try and bolster his squad elsewhere.
Pepe Reina
Arsene Wenger is a big fan of Liverpool’s long-serving goalkeeper Pepe Reina and there are indications that Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to sell the Spaniard to raise much-needed funds.
Reina’s ability has never been in question but the 30-year-old has become sloppy after nearly 8 years on Merseyside and might benefit from a change of scene. Rodgers has faith in Aussie back-up Brad Jones and also wants to sign Birmingham prodigy Jack Butland, so Reina swapping Stanley Park for Finsbury Park is not as farfetched as may it seem.
Arsenal need a new keeper, with Wenger reportedly no longer convinced by number one Wojeich Szesczny and back-up Lukas Fabianski a long-term injury concern.
