Japan playmaker Keisuke Honda is in London for a medical with Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.
However, other sources claim the CSKA Moscow star is back in his home country recovering from a foot injury – and it is clear thatthe transfer deadline day madness is underway!
The midfielder-cum-forward has long been linked with a Liverpool transfer, with the club most strongly linked with a striker signing today, but it could be Arsene Wenger able to count on his invention and dynamism rather than Kenny Dalglish.
Whilst many have accused Wenger of acting without a plan this summer, it is clear what Honda would be able to bring to the team.
Capable of playing the regista role of creating from deep, Honda could start tougher matches there.
In games where Arsenal are heavy favourites to win, Honda could also be deployed further upfield – or even as a second striker.
Still, he’s unlikely to leave CSKA Moscow before the deadline day is complete if he is injured and in Japan…
