Arsenal are considering a bid for Lille striker Moussa Sow as a replacement for Nicklas Bendtner – if the Dane finds himself a new club.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already raided the French outfit for Ivory Coast international Gervinho at the beginning of the summer and could return with a £12 offer for his former team-mate Sow.
The French-born Senegalese striker caught the eye during Lille’s Ligue 1-winning campaign last season as he topped the division’s scoring charts with 25 league goals for Lille.
But Wenger is delaying a bid as he first looks to shed Bendtner and his £50,000 a week wages from Arsenal’s books.
The Denmark international has held talks with Sunderland, Stoke and Newcastle, but none of them have matched the Gunner´s £11m asking price.
Sow is desperate for a move to North London and hopes Arsenal make a bid for him before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
“I want to play at Arsenal,” he said, speaking to Canal Football Club radio station. “I think my game is best suited to the Premier League.
