Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger promised an “active” summer transfer window at the season’s close, but it has not turned out quite the way his club’s supporters had hoped thus far.
It would be fair to say that Gunners fans wanted to keep their best players, as well as make some some top quality additions themselves.
Gervinho, brought in from Lille OSC, looks a fine player, but Arsenal are yet to strengthen in areas such as central defence and the anchor midfield position.
They also seem resigned to losing two of their very best players.
It is expected that Cesc Fabregas will finally depart for Barcelona this summer, while Samir Nasri looks set to join the Manchester City revolution in a £25m deal.
Furthermore, Wenger is to sanction the loan of Mexican forward Carlos Vela to Ligue 1 side FC Lorient, according to France Football, while Japanese winger Ryo Miyachi will likely head back to Feyenoord should his work permit application fall through.
Will Arsenal have enough options this coming season?
