Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is to finally spend the money that his club’s fans have wanted him to – on none other than Eden Hazard of Lille OSC.
French sports newspaper L’Equipe claims that “Lille are expecting Arsenal to come in for Hazard,” but he will not come cheap.
Having already lost Gervinho this summer, L’Equipe claim Lille will demand up to 30m Euros (approximately £26.3m) for the Belgian winger.
At 20 years of age, Hazard has the world at his feet. Despite being blessed with lightning pace and a provider of both goals and assists, his greatest strength is his dribbling.
The Lille flyer is capable of magic and is comfortable on either flank. He was even voted the Ligue 1 player of the season after a tremendous campaign.
Hazard would be an excellent signing for Arsenal should Samir Nasri depart for Manchester City – and cost a similar amount to the £25m Wenger is demanding from Eastlands for his French playmaker.
The video at the bottom of the page shows his considerable class.
