Gunners face battle with Premier Leage giants for Zakaria Bakkali…
Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea will battle to sign PSV’s 17-year-old Belgian flyer Zakaria Bakkali, reports the Express.
The wonderkid has been earmarked as potentially one of the best players of his generation, and has seen his value rocket after a blistering start to the season.
He became the youngest ever player in Holland’s top league to score a hat-trick, when he bagged three in a 5-0 demolition of NEC last week. As a result, the flyer was called up to Belgium’s national squad, where he trained with proven Premier League stars like Eden Hazard, Marouane Fellaini, Vincent Kompany and Christian Benteke.
Bakkali has already scored five goals in four league appearances, and is naturally interesting Euopre’s elite clubs.
The Gunners have also been linked with young Sevilla’s young winger Geoffrey Kondogbia, who has a£17m release clause. The Emirates club are obviously keen to recruit some new attacking talent, perhaps as a result of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s nasty knee injury sustained in the home defeat to Aston Villa.
Arsenal have so far only signed Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer this summer, and are desperate to improve the squad following the miserable outing at home to Villa.
Chelsea and Manchester already have an embarrassment of riches in wide attacking positions, but both seem intent on signing the Moroccan born flyer, such is the enormity of his talent.
