Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly been quoted a huge £40m figure for exciting midfielder player Douglas Costa.
The Metro are reporting that the 23-year-old, who has been linked with a transfer away from Shakhtar in the coming weeks, has so far refused to return to Ukraine because of political problems.
Following the issues in the country earlier this summer, the player is keen on a move, but will demand a big asking price if either of the Premier League giants are to firm up their interest with a bid.
His tricky situation at Shakhtar has resulted in several European clubs – including United, Arsenal and AC Milan – weighing up a move for the uncapped Brazilian.
However, any interested party will have to splash out £40m to land the attacking player this summer after club bosses reportedly said they thought Costa was better than his compatriot Hulk.
The player himself is believed to prefer a switch to Arsenal over United, although no deal has been struck with either side.
