Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has insisted he will not sell Hugo Rodallega before the transfer deadline on Wednesday, as it won’t leave him enough time to bring in a suitable replacement.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in Rodallega, but Martinez insists they will not be selling anyone before transfer window closes .
The Colombian international is in the final year of his contract and he has been strongly linked with a move away from Wigan after negotiations regarding a new deal stalled.
“We wouldn’t consider any late offers for Hugo,” added Martinez.
“You can’t replace players at this stage of the season.
“If a player is moving for big money they have to go earlier in the summer.
“We would not be in a position to replace him now. It is not possible.”
Martinez also went on to confirm his interest in Manchester City duo Shaun Wright-Phillips and Vladimir Weiss.
