4. Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City – £3.5m-a-year
The Chilean was hired from Malaga in the summer of 2013 as the man picked to succeed the sacked Roberto Mancini and to take the Citizens to the next level of success.
This was no mean feat, primarily due to Mancini’s popularity at the Etihad Stadium, but the 60-year-old has City playing attacking and attractive football and has led them to the last-16 of the Champions League for the first time.
