A big disappointment for the Red Devils in 2014, Angel Di Maria is getting interest from a litany of other teams. Will he leave Old Trafford after one year?
Arsenal have entered the race for Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria, and could have a major offer in place for the expensive flop.
According to the Telegraph, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is eager to sign the 27-year-old Argentinian star after two previous failed attempts now that Man United appear ready to sell the £59.7 million flop. The Telegraph reported that although Man United would likely be hesitant to off-load Di Maria to a bitter rival like Arsenal, the Gunners would be willing to make a big enough offer to the Red Devils “provided a deal fits into their financial framework.”
Di Maria, who signed with Man United last season out of Real Madrid on a record £60 million deal, is also getting inquiries from Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Barcelona with Manchester City also looking to spend a lot of money this transfer period.
A member of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Dream Team, Di Maria looked like an early star for Man United after scoring in three of his first five matches, but he never scored again during the Premier League season and was benched by Louis van Gaal at the end of the season.
