Ribery appeals to the judges of football’s most prestigious individual prize.
Bayern Munich ace Franck Ribery claims the Frenchman works much harder than Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Frenchman has previously stated that the winger has the best ever chance of winning the Ballon D’Or trophy this year, after helping Bayern to the treble of Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League in 2012/13.
Messi has won the previous four titles and after yet another impressive year at the Nou Camp, looks set for a fifth gong.
Yet Ribery says the 30-year-old works a lot harder than both the Argentinian and Ronaldo and that this should play a part in the decision.
“Compared to them, I work much harder. I do a lot more defending than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and provide more assists,” the France international was quoted by Goal.
“It would be fantastic to actually win the Fifa Ballon d’Or when you have a shot at winning it.
“I have even more confidence in myself than before and that shows on the pitch. I am on top of my game and score a lot of goals. I am really enjoying myself on the pitch.”
Ribery has been in great form for the German champions again this term, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 12 matches in all competitions.
The attacker netted in the UEFA Supercup victory over Chelsea in August and has also helped Bayern to top of the Bundesliga with six wins and two draws so far in 2013/14.
