Barca respond to Chelsea interest in Argentine star.
Barcelona have responded to recent speculation that Lionel Messi could leave the club for Chelsea, insisting they are not considering selling the player, according to Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old, widely regarded as the best player in the world, was supposedly the subject of a £118m bid from the Blues during the summer, which was swiftly rejected by the Catalan giants.
However, it has been suggested that Chelsea could bid for him again, while the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring his situation.
Still, Barca hope to keep Messi at the club for the rest of his career.
“The possibility of Messi moving keeps coming up, but we haven’t considered it,” the club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu said.
“He;s very happy here and we’ll have Messi for many years. I hope he’ll retire at our club.”
