Highly rated youngster Jese is admired by several clubs.
Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has urged club president Florentino Perez to wrap up a new contract for Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen target Jese Rodriguez.
The 20-year-old winger has drawn interest from the Gunners in the past and with his current deal up in 2014 could be a potential bargain buy this summer.
Yet Zidane, who is currently Madrid’s director of football, believes that Jese will be a star at the Santiago Bernabeu and wants Perez to offer the youngster a new deal.
“Jese can not move from here,” the former ‘galatico’ was quoted on El Confidential.
“We cannot lose him. He has to be in the first team with a renewed contract.”
Zidane himself is likely to become a coach at Madrid once he completes his UEFA badges and will sit alongside expected new manager Carlo Ancelotti on the bench in the Spanish capital.
Therefore the World Cup winner is already planning who he wants in Los Blancos squad and Jese is clearly one of the names he expects to be in the first team.
The young Spaniard is currently in Madrid’s Castilla side which competes in the Segunda division in Spain, yet 22 goals and 12 assists in 38 matches last season has made the winger a favourite for promotion to the senior squad.
At the under-19 European championships in 2012 – which Spain won – Jese scored five goals in four matches on the way to the final, including the winning strike in the deciding match against Greece.
