Everyone loves an acca – or accumulator if you’d prefer to use the full term – and everyone loves the World Cup, so what better way is there to extend your betting pleasure that stringing together some games for an acca on this summer’s World Cup Finals in Russia?
If you’re new to accas, then an acca is simply a string of single bets that pile on top of each other, one after the other (although it doesn’t really matter which order you work out your acca winnings in) so that the winnings of one bet act as the stake for the next, and so on until all bets are settled.
The true beauty of an acca is that if all your bets come in, then you can expect some pretty hefty moolah in exchange for a relatively tiny fee – people have won millions on acca bets, and some using a starting stake of as little as fifty pence!
The downside of an acca though is that if one of your bets fail, then your whole acca is a loser. Be aware that many sports books now offer ‘acca insurance’, where you win back your acca stake as a free bet should just one of your acca selections fail.
Here are the best World Cup accumulator tips for this summer’s tournament:
Group Winner Tips
Group A – Uruguay
Although hosts Russia are in Group A, they have a very poor FIFA ranking, but that may be because they’ve not been involved in any qualification matches. Expect Uruguay to win Group A, even so.
Group G – Belgium
England play Belgium in the final group game, but by then both teams should already have qualified. As Gareth Southgate will no doubt rest several players for this dead rubber match, expect Belgium to prevail and win the group.
Group H – Poland
You can forget Senegal and Japan, the real battle of this group is the battle of the goalscorers – Poland’s Lewandowski against Colombia’s Rodriguez. Poland should edge the group, but possibly only on goal difference.
Group G – Poland v Colombia (June 24)
It’s that man Lewandowski against – Colombia’s defence will be no match for the talented Pole. Poland’s defence is not exactly rock-tight though, so expect both sides to concede.
Group B – Portugal v Spain (June 15)
There’s usually no love lost in games between these two national sides, and both teams will want to impress. Forget any cagey sort of defensive play – both sides should really go for the other’s throat from the get-go.
Draw No Bet Tips
Group C – AUSTRALIA v Peru (June 26)
Both sides here will have no illusions that they can make it past the group stage and go further on in the competition. For both of them this is their best chance of winning a game, so they should really come out attack-minded. We’d plump for Australia here, but eliminate the draw just in case Peru manage a fight back.
Group F – MEXICO v Sweden (June 27)
Another close call, both teams will be hoping to land second place in their group behind Germany. We feel Mexico will be just a little too much for the Swedes but again, eliminate the draw.
Anytime Scorers Tips
Group E – Neymar (Brazil) v Switzerland (June 17)
Brazil will pick a strong side for the opening game and the Swiss should already be quaking in their cuckoo clocks. Expect the name of Neymar to be among the list of goalscorers for this match.
Group G – Harry Kane (England) v Panama (June 24)
If they’ve won their opening game, then England can assure themselves of qualification for the next stage by beating Panama. We envisage that after a nervy opener Raheem Sterling will send in a fierce cross-cum-shot that will brush Harry Kane’s chest and end up in the back of the net.
England to be eliminated at the quarter-final stage
Well, at least England fans will get to enjoy five games this tournament, even if the final one will be a thrashing at the hands of Germany. Expect England to scrape through to the last eight, but no further.
Overall Winners Tips
It’s a bizarre fact but the German’s have never successfully defended their World Cup winners title, despite winning the thing four times. In fact, the World Cup has only ever been successfully defended twice – Italy in 1938 and Brazil in 1962. Expect Joachim Low to add Germany’s name to that exclusive list this time around.
There you go, plenty of tips for your World Cup acca. Simply pick the ones you like the sound of the most, or if you fancy the chances of winning a ton of cash chain together the whole lot. Just remember to enjoy both your football betting and viewing, and to only gamble with money that you can afford to lose.
