The final two teams of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil get their campaign going in Group H as Russia take on South Korea.
This is set to be an evenly matched affair, with Fabio Capello’s Russian side the slight favourites heading into this game.
Capello’s men are playing in their first tournament since 2002 and in a pool that also contains Belgium and Algeria, are expected to progress to the last-16.
They will have to do it without captain Roman Shirokov though, with the captain ruled out of the entire competition due to a knee injury.
The South Koreans meanwhile are competing in their eighth successive World Cup and will be hoping to emulate their exploits of 2002, when the nation reached the semi-finals on home soil.
They are led by Hong Myung-bo, who actually played in that successful campaign 12 years ago when they knocked out both Italy and Spain on the way to the last four.
Centre-back Hong Jeong-Ho is expected to be recalled to the starting XI, whilst Arsenal striker Park Chuyong is likely to start upfront.
For the Russians, veteran striker Aleksandr Kerzhakov of Zenit St. Petersburg will lead the line with the highly rated Alexander Kokorin in behind him.
