West Ham star Mark Noble has admitted it’s surreal meeting a huge fan of his from Shanghai during the club’s pre-season tour there this summer.
It’s increasingly common now for Premier League teams to make long trips abroad in between Premier League campaigns, and it means you now get die-hard Hammers from all corners of the globe.
See below as Pan is genuinely in awe of Noble and gives him loads of presents, with Noble himself also taken aback at the support.
“It’s a little bit surreal to be honest, I don’t see myself as someone’s hero,” Noble says in the video above from betway.
“Especially with all the players out there he can follow, the Messis, the Ronaldos, he took a real liking to me. For someone like him on the other side of the world to appreciate what you’ve done is pretty special.”
West Ham must be delighted to be expanding their fan-base in this way, though it’s also interesting to hear Pan explain that he started supporting the east Londoners because he liked playing as them on Football Manager.
