Hammers join the race for Celtic star Virgil van Dijk.

Six Arsenal defensive targets
Arsenal’s most injured player – Somehow not Diaby!
The Dutchman had been believed to have been identified as the Gunners’ key centre back target for January as they look to improve a situation that currently leaves them with just two senior natural central defenders – a situation that was exposed at the weekend when reserve left back Nacho Monreal had to play in the centre of defence.
West Ham, however, have started the season in fine form and went into the top four courtesy of the weekend’s 3-1 win at Burnley, with Sam Allardyce now looking to strengthen even further in January by snagging van Dijk from under Wenger’s nose.
