Speculation is mounting that West Coast ruckman Dean Cox will announce his retirement from football today.
West Coast Eagles ruckman Dean Cox looks set to announce his retirement from AFL football.
The West Australian is reporting the Eagles have called a press conference for midday (WA time), where it seems the veteran will call time on his career.
It is understood that the club’s all-time games record holder will play out the rest of the season.
The 33-year-old has been rested at various times this season, and the news comes just days after West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbitt said the club was confident of re-signing young ruckman Scott Lycett who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Cox, a veteran of 286 games, has sat out three matches this season.
More to come…
